Ausschreibung des ’Wissenschaftspreis des Vereins für die Geschichte Berlins e.V., gegr. 1865’

In 2018 the Association for Berlin History (short:VfdGB) is giving away a science award for the first time. It is endowed with maximum 4000 Euro. This prize honours already existing or planned research works or projects concerning Berlin history of individual junior scientists or science teams – especially in the fields of social history, arts and cultural history, legal and constitutional history, economic history as well as history of technology and science. Projects that convey and deal with European and global aspects of Berlin history are particularly welcome.

Projects like publications and exhibitions, but also oral-history-projects, app programming and other innovative studies with historical content can be supported. There are no criteria concerning the format of your planned project. The support programme of the VfdGB aims to support exceptional engagement for historical research and students’ research initiatives or their dissemination.

An important criterion for honouring you with the award is a high scientific quality of your work. Only unpublished works can be considered for winning. They shall not have been awarded in another comparable competition yet.

The selection of the award winner or winning team by the board of the VfdGB is based on the recommendation of a jury – without possibility of recourse to legal action.
